A Day of Success, Celebration, and Worry

Some days remind us that life is a mixture of happiness and unexpected worries. Today was one of those days. It started with peaceful conversations, turned into one of my best workdays in Dubai, and ended with concern after my Pappa got injured. Even though many good things happened today, my mind stayed with her throughout the evening.

A Good Morning with My Pappa

Today, I woke up early around 6:00 A.M. The first thing I saw was my Pappa’s good morning message. I wished her back, freshened up, and went downstairs to begin my work for the day.

While I was working, my Pappa called me before leaving for the office. She told me that today was her mother’s birthday and that the whole family had planned a surprise celebration. Hearing her excitement made me smile, and we spent some time talking about our previous day before she reached the office. As always, we ended the call by wishing each other a beautiful day.

A Busy Day at Work

After the call, I returned to my room, took a shower, had my usual breakfast, and quickly got ready for work. Today was packed with meetings and product demos, so I wanted to prepare everything carefully.

Originally, one of my demos was scheduled after lunch. However, because one of our founders became unavailable later in the day, the meeting was moved to 12:00 P.M. instead.

My Biggest Demo So Far

The first demo became one of the biggest presentations I’ve handled so far.

Nearly 14 people joined the meeting, including the project manager. I was honestly a little nervous because it was my first time demonstrating the product to such a large group.

I explained every feature, answered their questions, and handled the discussion confidently. There were only a few small suggestions for improvement, which made me feel relieved.

The biggest surprise came after the meeting.

The project manager called me personally and appreciated my presentation. He told me that the demo had gone really well and advised me not to blindly follow everyone’s suggestions. Instead, he encouraged me to think about whether a feature was actually useful before implementing it.

Hearing those words meant a lot because I never expected that kind of appreciation from him.

Another Demo Completed

After speaking with my Pappa for a few minutes, I ordered my lunch. Before I could even eat, another demo meeting was scheduled just thirty minutes later.

Thankfully, that presentation also went smoothly.

The feedback was positive again, with only a few minor corrections suggested. I decided to finish those changes tomorrow instead of rushing through them today.

Finally, after both demos were over, I returned to my room, finished my lunch, and took a short 30-minute nap before getting back to work.

A Short Evening Call

Since today was my Pappa’s mother’s birthday, she left the office a little earlier than usual. She called me while traveling home, but unfortunately, the network connection wasn’t good.

Her family members were also calling her continuously regarding the birthday celebration, so we couldn’t talk for very long. Even though the conversation lasted only around ten to fifteen minutes, I was still happy because I got to see her face for a little while.

Sometimes even a few minutes are enough to make my day better.

Tea with the Team

Later in the evening, all of us from the office went out together for tea.

It may sound like a small outing, but after a long time, everyone—including the new team members—spent some relaxed time together. It felt nice to step away from work for a while and simply enjoy the company.

The News That Changed My Mood

While I was at the tea shop, my Pappa texted me.

She had slipped while walking and injured her leg. It had become swollen, and she was in pain.

At that moment, I wished I could have been there with her.

Since the network wasn’t good while I was outside, I couldn’t speak much. As soon as I returned to my room, I contacted my aunt, who had experienced a similar injury before. She recommended an ointment, and I immediately suggested the same treatment to my Pappa.

Even though I couldn’t be physically beside her, I wanted to help in whatever way I could.

Planning for the Future

Later in the evening, one of my close friends called me. We spent nearly an hour discussing startup ideas, product concepts, and different ways of building something meaningful that could generate income in the future.

Those conversations always motivate me because they remind me that there are many possibilities waiting ahead.

Choosing Health Over Everything Else

After speaking with my grandparents and my aunt, I checked on my Pappa again.

She told me that she had taken leave from work for the next day so she could rest and recover properly. That also meant we probably wouldn’t be able to talk much tomorrow.

Honestly, that hurt a little because I have only two more days left before leaving Dubai, and I wanted to spend as much time with her as possible.

But at the same time, her health matters far more than our conversations.

If she isn’t feeling well, I don’t even want her to come and meet me after I return. I would rather wait until she recovers completely than see her suffering.

Ending the Day

After saying “Love you” and wishing each other good night, I ordered a pizza for dinner.

The rest of the evening was spent talking to my family, finishing my meal, and finally sitting down to write today’s blog.

Looking back, today was actually a wonderful day.

Both of my demos went successfully, I received appreciation from my project manager, spent time with my colleagues, and made progress at work.

The only thing that stayed in my heart was my Pappa’s injury.

I just hope she feels better soon.

That’s all for today.

Good night, everyone. ❤️
